If like us you want to play poker on your mobile phone and have been searching on the internet for information you will no doubt have encountered some horrible websites with nothing but banners and waffle. We decided that a good website was needed with some real information, real reviews, screenshots and the real information that you want to know. We aren’t there yet but in the next few months we will be updating this site regularly and working towards a website that will tell you all about playing poker on your mobile, poker apps and all the mobile poker knowledge you could ever want.
What we do know at the moment is there are very few ways of currently playing for real money on your phone. Many of the top sites are working hard behind the scenes to introduce mobile poker and several poker apps are in the pipeline but at this stage playing poker on your mobile is left to play money on apps like Zynga Poker. Ultimate Bet at one stage had a mobile poker facility but dropped it as they were perhaps a little early in the development of phones releasing it a couple of years before the majority of people had smartphones capable of playing poker.
There are ways of being able to play poker on your phone if you know how to work via a remote desktop or by virtual networked computing. Essentially you can control your home computer or laptop via your iPhone. We are working hard to finalise the best way of doing this using the various apps available and will be back with a definitive answer soon!
We believe that mobile poker games are just around the corner and Apple’s decision to allow gambling apps on the app store has marked a significant change in the mobile phone industry. With the Android system now working on many other phone manufacturers’ handsets there are two operating systems to design for which will have a significant share of the market. For Poker on BlackBerrys it can only be hoped that the poker sites will see the importance of this demographic of phone users.
The modern mobile phone has unbelievable processing power compared to only a few years ago and with internet connection and usage now included in many phone contracts for free phone manufacturers are increasingly incorporating the internet in the functioning of their phones. With these dramatic changes in the approach to the internet on a phone we expect to see mobile poker availability grow exponentially over the next few years.
Mobile Texas Hold’em is expected to be the most popular game on the mobile phone just as it is currently the most popular game online and in card rooms. Cell phone poker is not expected to change the way we approach poker and with cake poker mobile already popular if you have a windows based phone we expect to see Party Poker Mobile before too long in some form or another.
If you want to play poker on your mobile then already there are many different ways if you don’t mind playing for play money rather than real money. Without a doubt the biggest play money poker site is Zynga which is tied in to Facebook and MySpace. There are also lots of alternatives but very few are even comparable to Zynga Poker.
